The benefits of red light therapy have long been touted for the face and body, but brands are now releasing red light therapy devices targeted to healing specific ailments like cold sores and blisters too.
Case in point: this LETOURWM Infrared Light Meter on Amazon, which is currently in stock and available for under $50 online.
BESTSELLER
Red Light Therapy Cold Sore Treatment Light
$49.99
Amazon says hundreds of people have bought this red light therapy device in the last month alone, with reviewers praising it for ease of use and effectiveness. The infrared light stick currently boasts a 4.2-star rating (out of five) from dozens of verified reviews.
While some red light therapy devices can be big and bulky, this palm-sized wand is small enough to treat your mouth, nose, ears and other hard-to-reach places. The company says the device harnesses the power of red and infrared light to stimulate cellular processes, which can help speed up healing, pain relief and recovery. Users say the wand is great for treating cold sores, blisters and even small wound healing. One even says she “bought this item to help with my tendinitis,” writing that “it has helped a great deal.”
The five LED lights and five wavelengths are said to also help improve circulation and muscle stiffness. The wand is even powerful enough to penetrate the skin to treat things like canker sores in the mouth. Per the brand, simply hold the wand over the affected area for 1-3 minutes a day, a few times a day, until you see results. Results will vary of course, but one reviewer raves that her lip sore was “beginning to heal the next morning.”
Use the flashlight-style wand for relaxation and recovery on your body; attach the straw-like tip to target smaller areas on your face. Everything is super safe and gentle, and while you will feel some warmth, the red light wand doesn’t overheat (keep in mind, you’re not meant to rub the device on your face, but rather hold it a few inches away).
This set comes with two rechargeable batteries, a USB-C cable and carrying case. It also includes a pair of sunglasses if you want to protect your eyes, though we haven’t been putting them on (just don’t stare too long directly at the light).
