Before The Beatles headed to Abbey Road Studios to release their follow-up to Rubber Soul back in 1966, the world hadn’t even heard songs like “Yellow Submarine,” “Eleanor Rigby,” or “Tomorrow Never Knows” yet. Close to six decades later, those beloved songs and the band’s daring LP Revolver — No. 11 on Rolling Stone‘s list of the Best Albums of All Time — celebrate their 59th anniversary this August.
“No Beatles album has a mystique quite like Revolver,” Rolling Stone‘s Rob Sheffield wrote in 2022 when a Super Deluxe Edition of the LP got released. “John, Paul, George, and Ringo threw all their craziest ideas into their experimental 1966 masterpiece, turning Abbey Road Studios into a hotbed of madcap creative frenzy. Revolver was underrated for many years — especially in America, where the complete album didn’t even get released for 20 years. So it took time to get recognized as the Beatles’ boldest, brashest statement.”

Now on sale and 20% off on Amazon, the band’s box set contains five CDs of must-hear outtakes, home-recorded demos, and a 100-page book containing detailed liner notes, images, and handwritten lyrics.
The box set also includes a special four-track EP featuring a 2022 stereo mix of “Paperback Writer” and “Rain.” Fans of the Fab Four can also stream the remastered version of the album, including the new 2022 mixes, on Amazon Music.
“Sifting through the collection’s outtakes and sessions is like showing up unannounced at the Beatles’ shared row house in Help! and watching them dress and tidy up for company,” Rolling Stone described in our review of the Super Deluxe Edition, which we dubbed an instant classic. “When you’re used to seeing carefully preened mop tops and perfectly dusted rotating bookshelves, witnessing the mess — the editing process — can be jarring. But it’s also essential to comprehending the Beatles’ genius without taking it for granted.”
Fans can score a copy of the Amazon Exclusive vinyl and pick up The Beatles’ Revolver Super Deluxe Edition box set, now on Amazon.
