The Tony-winning Broadway hit, Hamilton, is moving from the Great White Way to the bright white ice.

The official X account for the musical, Hamilton, posted a clip Sunday of U.S. ice dancers Caroline Green and Michael Parsons rehearsing their new rhythm dance to the Broadway show’s hit soundtrack. The two-time U.S. medalists debuted their Hamilton-themed routine at Skate Canada over the weekend, the second stop in figure skating‘s prestigious Grand Prix series of events.

Green and Parsons posted a score of 74.24 points for their Skate Canada rhythm dance (formerly known as the “short dance” or “short program”), on their way to a third-place finish overall. The couple’s two minute and 50 second routine uses three songs from the Hamilton soundtrack: “Ten Duel Commandments,” “Your Obedient Servant,” and “The Room Where It Happens.” All three tracks were written by Lin-Manuel Miranda for the original Broadway show.

As Green explained in a backstage interview, “It’s Hamilton versus Burr. It’s taken from the opening, where Burr’s in the red and pretty much the entire cast is in the white and the cream. But it’s sort of like a modern Hamilton meets figure skating, because unfortunately, we can’t wear really long coats and colonial dress.”

Dag! They amaze and astonish.

While Skate Canada marked the Hamilton program’s Grand Prix debut, Green and Parsons actually tested it out on audiences at two smaller “Senior B” events earlier this fall: the Denis Ten Memorial Challenge, where the couple finished third, and the CS Nepela Memorial Trophy, where they finished in fifth place.

The figure skating routine comes on the heels of a 10th anniversary box set released in September. Titled Rise Up! Hamilton, the 7-LP set includes the original Broadway cast recording, the 2016 Hamilton Mixtape recording (featuring Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys, and others) plus the first-ever vinyl pressing of Hamildrops: The Complete Collection, Miranda’s sequel to the Hamilton Mixtape. The box set also includes previous unreleased songs, plus an 80-page book with behind-the-scenes photos, as well as a poster, custom slipmat, and other collectibles.

The Hamilton soundtrack topped Billboard’s Broadway albums chart and has been certified diamond. It also took home the Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album in 2016.

As for Green and Parsons, the U.S. figure skaters will next compete at the Finlandia Trophy in November. You can stream all the Grand Prix of Figure Skating events live online this year on Peacock. This isn’t the first time a figure skater has performed to the Hamilton soundtrack – U.S. men’s star Jason Brown skated to “The Room Where It Happens” for his short program in the 2017-2018 season.
