NCIS is back for its 22nd season. The CBS show is now the third-longest-running live-action prime-time television series on the air, surpassed only by Law & Order, and Law & Order: SVU. The show’s ongoing success has hinged on its ability to bring new talent into the mix, even as familiar faces like Mark Harmon have since left the show.

Long-running cast members like Sean Murray and Brian Dietzen are returning, as are Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, Diona Reasonover, and Rocky Carroll. The team has been led by Gary Cole since 2021, who plays Alden Parker. Outside of NCIS, Cole is largely known for comedic roles in shows and movies like Office Space and Veep.

NCIS Season 21 Cast, Spoilers, Number of Episodes

NCIS returns for its 22nd season with most of the main cast from Season 21, including Gary Cole, Sean Murray, Brian Dietzen, Wilmer Valderrama, Katrina Law, Diona Reasonover, and Rocky Carroll. Mark Harmon famously originated the show as NCIS Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, but the actor departed the drama series in 2022.

In contrast to Season 21 NCIS, which only had 10 episodes on account of the writer’s strike, season 22 will have 21 episodes.

NCIS revolves around a team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, who work to solve crimes and investigate misdeeds tied to the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.
