Just in time for end-of-summer festivities, Igloo has launched a new cooler inspired by The Notorious B.I.G. — this time with a built-in Bluetooth speaker system.

Called The Notorious B.I.G. KoolTunes Playmate, the cooler-slash-stereo boasts original artwork of Biggie with the text “it was all a dream” on the top of the lid and “it’s the Brooklyn way” on the sides. On the front of the cooler are two discreet, five-watt speakers with passive radiators that lend tunes for the tailgate, picnic, beach day, or pool party. The speakers are Bluetooth enabled for easy connectivity and last for up to 10 hours on a single charge. Plus, the cooler and speakers are all water- and dust-resistant.

Pick up Igloo’s new Notorious B.I.G. KoolTunes Playmate cooler now at Igloo.com for $174.99. Just be sure to snag one quickly as it is a limited-edition drop.

Besides being a thoughtful gift, a worthy collectible for Biggie fans, and a portable speaker, the Igloo Notorious B.I.G. KoolTunes Playmate is actually very functional as a cooler. It’s based on Igloo’s 14-quart Classic Playmate cooler, which features the brand’s signature swivel tent top for easy transportation and access to your drinks. It’s surprisingly spacious too, holding up to 26 regular-sized cans, and keeps everything chilled with Thermecool foam insulation.

“It’s a high honor to drop an all-new The Notorious B.I.G. Playmate,” says Adrienne Berkes, Vice President of Marketing at Igloo. “With Biggie’s KoolTunes, fans will be able to pay tribute to their favorite hip-hop artist and listen to their favorite Biggie tracks all at the same time.”

Earlier this year, in celebration of what would have been Biggie’s 50th birthday, Igloo kicked off its Notorious B.I.G. collection with two coolers: a seven-quart Little Playmate covered in a money print (with Biggie’s face on each 100-dollar bill), and a 16-quart Party Playmate Elite with “Party & BullSh*t” printed on the lid. Both of these Biggie coolers can be purchased at IglooCoolers.com, with the Little Playmate priced at $39.99 for Playmate Elite at $59.99.

The new Notorious B.I.G. release is the latest in a series of collaborative collections. Igloo has previously launched coolers with Iron Maiden, The Grateful Dead, and The Beatles.
