Things are not looking good for LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers. The No. 3 team in the West has taken a beating from the No. 6 Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Timberwolves’ 3-1 series lead is, of course, largely thanks to Anthony Edwards, who put up 43 points for a comeback win in Game Four.
At a Glance: How to Watch Lakers vs. Timberwolves
- Stream: DirecTV, Sling, Hulu + Live TV
- TV Channel: ESPN, ABC, TNT
Up next will be Game Five, back in Los Angeles. If you’re looking to watch Lakers vs. Timberwolves games during this year’s playoffs, read on. Below is a quick guide on how to watch Lakers vs. Timberwolves games online without cable.
How to Watch Lakers vs. Timberwolves Playoff Games Online
Upcoming Lakers vs. Timberwolves playoff games are airing on ESPN, ABC, and TNT. TNT games will be simulcast on Max. If you don’t have cable, the best way to keep up with the series is to get a live TV streaming service that carries all three channels. Below are three of the best options, including free trial and pricing information:
best overall
DirecTV
Pros: Free trial, affordable genre packs, ESPN+ included
Cons: Not as many entertainment channels in genre packs as other options
DirecTV, which now offers hardware-free streaming packages, carries ESPN, ABC, and TNT, as well as NBA TV for other NBA Playoff games. All of these channels are included in their MySports plan, which delivers 20+ channels for $69.99 a month. For sports fans, we think the package offers the best value of any streaming subscription. Best of all, you get a five-day free trial to start.
Sling TV
Pros: Tons of channels, easy to use
Cons: Requires combination of packages + add-ons, no free trial
Sling is another one of the best live TV streaming services for watching the NBA Playoffs, including Timberwolves vs. Lakers games. You can get ESPN, ABC, and TNT in Sling’s Orange + Blue package, which starts at $66 a month. If you want NBA TV as well (for other NBA Playoff games), grab the Sports Extra add-on for an additional $15 a month. Sling doesn’t offer a free trial, but right now you can get half off your first month.
Hulu + Live TV
Pros: Free trial, bonus streaming services
Cons: Pricey
Another way to livestream Lakers vs. Timberwolves games without cable is Hulu + Live TV. This streaming service carries 90+ channels and includes ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu (on-demand) as part of your subscription. New subscribers can get a three-day free trial before billing kicks in at $82.99 a month. The service does not carry NBA TV, however.
