If you’re chronically online like us, chances are you’ve come across Jellycat, the ultra-soft, irresistibly cute stuffed toys that have taken the internet by storm. Though the brand has been around since 1999, its popularity has recently exploded, thanks in large part to a wave of social media love.

From TikTok creators chasing down rare Jellycat finds (racking up millions of views along the way) to superfans flocking to the “Jellycat Diner” at FAO Schwarz in New York City, these plush animals are everywhere, both in real life and on your feed.

And even more recently, Jellycat has entered a new era of full-blown frenzy, with fans panic-buying the brand’s special-edition Valentine’s Day releases. The seasonal drop includes everything from a plush Amuseables macaron to a bouquet of flowers and even a heart-covered dragon.

But if you thought you could stroll into your nearest store and snag one, think again. Most styles are already sold out across major retailers. Still, we’ve tracked down a few spots online where you can get your hands on these highly sought-after stuffies. Read on for our full guide, and find out what makes Jellycat toys beloved by everyone from A-listers to everyday shoppers.

What Are Jellycats?

Jellycat plush toys fall into two main categories: Animals and Amuseables. The animal line includes comforting, nostalgic creatures like dogs, dinosaurs, and dragons. Amuseables, on the other hand, feature quirky inanimate objects, such as smiling avocados, pancakes, and plants. Jellycats can range from around $10 for a mini keychain version to a jaw-dropping $1,000 for the extra-large editions (yes, seriously).

Surprisingly, the biggest buyers of these plush toys aren’t who you might expect. More than ever, it’s full-grown adults, millennials, Gen Zers, and DINKs (dual-income, no-children), who are spending a notable chunk of their paychecks on these irresistibly soft collectibles.

The reason? These toys aren’t just luxurious, they’re also what many would call huggable. With their soft textures and carefully crafted designs, they offer an innate sense of comfort. I would even argue they function like a grown-up version of a fidget toy: something small and soothing to hold onto when stress or anxiety creeps in. You might not be “playing” with your Jellycat the way you once did with Barbie dolls, but the nostalgic, childlike joy they evoke can be surprisingly beneficial for your mental well-being
