If you’ve been thinking about picking up the energy-saving Nest Learning Thermostat, now’s a great time to add it to cart.
With the arrival of the 4th generation Google Nest Thermostat (released in August), Walmart has dropped the price of Google’s 3rd generation smart home thermostat down to just $139. This is a massive $101 discount, and brings the Nest Learning Thermostat down to the lowest price ever (for comparison, it’s on sale for $173 at Amazon).

The Google Nest Thermostat lets you easily set, schedule or adjust the temperature in your home, either through the easy-to-use touchscreen dial, or from a handy app on your phone. Choose from cooling or heating functions, or set it to eco mode when you’re out, so you’re not wasting energy on an empty home.
Thanks to the accompanying app, it’s never been easier to monitor your temperature levels and energy usage; you can also use the app (and your phone) to turn on the heat or A/C as you’re heading home, so you arrive to a comfortable temperature.
Nest is the first smart thermostat to get ENERGY STAR-certified for efficiency and environmental impact and it’s super easy to use right out of the box. Google says Nest Thermostat owners have saved more than 50 billion kilowatt hours of energy since the device was first introduced.
Nest says people have saved an average of 10 to 12 percent on heating bills and more than 15 percent on cooling bills from using the thermostat; the device basically pays for itself in less than two years. Google says the Nest Learning Thermostat works with 95% of HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) systems right out of the box.
Everything can be programmed and controlled from an app on your phone, and the thermostat itself was easy to install and set up (it took us about 30-40 minutes all in). When you’re about to come home and need the A/C turned on again, just swipe on the app and the Nest will respond. If you have an Amazon Echo or Nest Audio smart speaker, you can change your temperature hands-free.
Get the Google Nest Learning Thermostat for just $139 at Walmart and on sale for just $173 on Amazon. That’s a rare discount on one of the top smart home thermostats online. In fact, more than 75% of users give this a full, five-star review.
