The NASCAR Cup Series is returning to the Dover Motor Speedway this weekend for the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400. Known as the Monster Mile, the famously challenging track marks the NASCAR Cup Series’s return to oval tracks after the road and street courses of the Sonoma Raceway and Chicago Street Race.
At A Glance: How to Watch the NASCAR Cup Series at Dover Motor Speedway
- Date, Time: Sunday, July 20, 2:00 p.m. ET
- Channel: TNT
- Streaming: Sling TV
The race starts at 2:00 p.m. ET, with prerace coverage kicking off on TNT at 1:30 from the Dover Motor Speedway in Dover, Delaware. One way NASCAR fans who have cut the cord can stream the race with Sling, which offers two packages: Orange and Blue.
Both packages, which are also available as a bundle, include TNT. TNT will be airing the race, as well as prerace and post-race coverage. While Sling does not offer a free trial, plans are relatively affordable compared to other live streaming services, and new users can get the first month for half off.
How to Watch NASCAR Races on Sling
Because different networks, including FOX Sports, TNT, and NBC, carry NASCAR races, a live TV streaming service is one of the best ways to catch the action without a cable or satellite subscription, and Sling is one of the most affordable options.
What to Know About Dover Motor Speedway
The Dover Motor Speedway is known as the Monster Mile, and that’s not just a nickname. At exactly one mile long, the 400-mile race is 400 laps, and it features a banking of 24 degrees on the turns and 9 degrees on the straights.
It’s one of three NASCAR tracks to feature an entirely concrete racing surface. Previous iterations of this race have been held in the spring, rather than summer. To adjust for higher temperatures and Dover’s unique track design, Goodyear developed a special tire to be exclusively used for this weekend’s race. The tire has never been used in previous races, adding to the challenge for drivers.
