Summer is here, which means vacations, beach days, barbecues, and — best of all — Shark Week. Kicking off Sunday, July 21, the 37th annual Shark Week event promises a deep dive on the ocean’s most feared, fascinating, and misunderstood creature. This year’s edition of the much-loved event promises everything from “an unprecedented underwater dance competition to pulse-pounding recreations of terrifying shark attacks,” per a release. “The week-long celebration of the ocean’s apex predator – which attracted more than 25 million viewers last year – features ripped-from-the-headlines stories of chilling shark encounters, gripping scenes of predation, and fascinating insights and research from renowned experts and scientists.”
