Netflix/Lilly Pulitzer

If you’ve been aimlessly scrolling and trying to fill the gaping void in your heart (and on your screen) since The White Lotus Season Three finale, let me direct your attention to Netflix‘s limited series Sirens. Think Succession meets White Lotus meets Gossip Girl but with more ruffled hems and passive-aggressive toasts.

The buzzed-about show is adapted from the 2011 play Elemeno Pea and is set in a fictional coastal town that’s essentially Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket (although we’re certain it was inspired by one of these spots). Julianne Moore stars as Michaela Kell — a philanthropic socialite — while Milly Alcock (yes, Rhaenyra from House of the Dragon) plays Simone Dewitt, her deeply troubled personal assistant. There’s sibling rivalry, emotional manipulation, and just the right amount of dark comedy to make you want to binge-watch in a day.

But here’s what really got me: the fashion. It’s old-school preppy at its finest. And not just any prep — we’re talking Lilly Pulitzer prep. Yes, that Lilly Pulitzer. The Palm Beach-born brand known for its punchy prints, scalloped rompers, and mini-shift dresses. I personally wore Lilly from 2010 to 2014 during my New England Preppy Phase (™), a rite of passage if you grew up in Massachusetts, so imagine my shock when I realized Sirens was basically a walking ad for her.

And as it turns out, a ton of the looks featured on the show are straight off the rack from Lilly Pulitzer’s current collection. I clutched my metaphorical pearls and clicked over to the site, and honestly, the summer-ready looks are some of the best I’ve seen this year. We’re talking vacation tops, body-hugging swimsuits, and, of course, the iconic minis, midis, and maxis, now with a modern, fresh feel.

This isn’t your mom’s Lilly Pulitzer; and it’s definitely not the emotionally repressed WASP version of yesteryear. No, this is 2025 Lilly: bold, cheeky, and everything we could want in a warm-weathered wardrobe.
