The Oregon Ducks and Nike have linked with the Grateful Dead for another “Grateful Ducks” capsule, and it’s already a hit.
The new collection focuses on basketball gear ahead of March Madness and includes a basketball, a jersey, T-shirts, and sweatshirts. All of the limited-edition pieces combine the Grateful Dead’s iconography — like dancing bears, the steal your face logo, and tie-dye colors — with Nike checks and the University of Oregon’s colors. The basketball and jersey both sold out fast, but T-shirts and sweatshirts are still available for any Deadheads or Ducks fans looking to secure Oregon merch ahead of the NCAA basketball tournament.
The remaining Grateful Ducks pieces can be purchased on Fanatics, where prices range from $44.99 to $120. Be sure to grab anything quickly, however, as they will almost certainly continue to sell out.

This is the Grateful Dead’s second collection with Nike and the Oregon Ducks, following a football capsule in October. That collection went fast, with some items selling out in minutes. The football collection’s leading product was the Nike Air Max 90 x Class Trip x Grateful Dead, which nodded to an Air Max style worn by Grateful Dead lead singer Jerry Garcia when the band performed at Autzen Stadium in 1990.

These two Grateful Ducks collections are the continuation of a long history between the University of Oregon and the legendary jam band, with Grateful Dead archivist David Lemieux describing the university as the band’s “home away from home.” The relationship dates back to 1968, when the Dead performed at the University of Oregon’s EMU Ballroom. They went on to play more than 20 shows in Eugene, including 10 at the Ducks’ Autzen Stadium.
Be sure to pick up the remaining Grateful Ducks pieces at Fanatics before they sell out completely.
